Bringing Real-World Experience to Our Schools: As a business owner and entrepreneur, I’ve learned that success comes from accountability, innovation, and results. I want to bring that practical approach to our school board, problem-solving that works for families and makes every tax dollar count. My experience leading companies and managing budgets gives me the financial expertise to identify inefficiencies and implement systems that maximize resources while delivering measurable outcomes for our students.

Finding the Best Teachers for Our Kids: Our children deserve incredible educators. I believe in modernizing our hiring process to make Carroll ISD the place where the best teachers, coaches, and leaders want to work, because passionate, qualified educators change lives. As both a business leader who has built successful teams and someone who understands the education field, I know what it takes to attract and recruit top talent: competitive strategies, streamlined processes, and creating environments where professionals thrive.

Community Partnerships: I’m passionate about connecting with local businesses, families, and foundations to bring additional resources into our schools. When we work together, we can enhance programs and facilities without burdening taxpayers. My entrepreneurial background and community connections position me to build the strategic partnerships that generate sustainable funding streams and create real opportunities for our students.

Preparing Every Student for Their Future: Every child has different gifts and paths ahead. I support expanding STEM, arts, vocational trades, business education, and leadership programs so every graduate is prepared and confident for college or career. As an entrepreneur and author, I understand both the academic foundation and practical skills students need to succeed in today’s economy, whether they’re starting businesses, entering trades, or pursuing higher education.

Supporting Educators: Our teachers, coaches, and staff pour their hearts into our kids every day. As someone who spent almost 10 years as an educator in higher education, I understand both the challenges and rewards of the teaching profession. I’m committed to creating a culture where they feel respected, supported, and valued. My experience in both education and business leadership gives me unique insight into what educators need to excel, both the professional support systems and the recognition that makes great teachers want to stay. When we invest in our people, our students thrive.

Leading with Heart in Special Education: As a father of a child who benefits from special education services, this isn’t just policy for me, it’s personal. Every child, regardless of their challenges, deserves our very best. Carroll ISD should set the standard for Special Education with full funding, exceptional staffing, and tailored resources. My family’s experience, combined with my professional background in special education staffing, has shown me firsthand the transformative power of proper support and individualized attention. I understand what comprehensive special education looks like, and I will advocate tirelessly for these essential programs. No compromises.

Asset Investments: I will never support raising your taxes. But I won’t let our facilities decline. We must make wise, revenue producing, infrastructure investments and improvements that benefit all students and add lasting value to our district. My business experience in strategic planning and financial management means I can identify which investments generate long-term value versus short-term expenses, ensuring every dollar spent strengthens our schools for generations to come.

Gender Affirming Policies: I don’t support policies that put boys in girls’ sports or locker rooms. Teachers shouldn’t be forced to use pronouns that contradict biology. Our schools must respect biological reality and parents’ fundamental role. As a father and principled conservative, I understand the importance of protecting childhood and respecting parental authority. My commitment to traditional values guides my unwavering stance on these critical issues.

Divisive Programs or Policies: Every child should be judged by character and effort. I oppose Critical Race Theory and divisive DEI programs that focus on group identity over individual achievement. Our kids deserve merit-based education. My experience working with diverse populations has taught me that true unity comes from recognizing individual worth and potential, not from programs that categorize people by demographics rather than character and capability.

Activism Over Education: Classrooms should be places of learning, not political battlegrounds. I’m committed to keeping partisan agendas out so teachers can focus on teaching core subjects and critical thinking skills. As someone who values both academic excellence and principled leadership, I understand that education works best when it’s focused on timeless knowledge and skills rather than temporary political movements that distract from genuine learning.

School Vouchers: I will always stand against school voucher schemes that rob our public schools of critical funding. The recent 0.008% increase in the basic allotment is a slap in the face to educators and families. It’s unacceptable and, frankly, insulting. They demand more from our schools while giving less. That’s not reform; it’s sabotage. As a business leader, I know that strong institutions require real investment. The strength of Carroll ISD lies in our unwavering belief that every student deserves, and is capable of, excellence. I won’t support anything that compromises that belief.

Supporting Carroll ISD’s Financial Strength and Local Control

I support legislative reforms that strengthen Carroll ISD’s financial position and promote local control over education funding. Specifically:

Reducing or Eliminating Robin Hood Payments: Carroll ISD currently sends a significant portion of our local tax revenue to other districts under the Robin Hood system. This is unfair to our community, which invests heavily in providing top-quality education. I support efforts to reform or eliminate these payments so that Carroll ISD can retain more of its funding to invest directly in our classrooms, teachers, and student programs.
Shifting to Enrollment-Based Funding: Texas public school funding is currently based on daily attendance, but districts like Carroll still incur fixed costs for every enrolled student regardless of attendance on any given day. I support changing the funding formula to allocate resources based on enrollment, providing districts with greater financial stability and the ability to plan and deliver consistent, high-quality education.

Legislation I Oppose

I stand firmly against legislation that:

Imposes Woke Curricula or Policies: I oppose any laws or mandates that push critical race theory, divisive Diversity, Equity & Inclusion programs, or gender ideology into our schools. Our classrooms should focus on academic excellence, not political activism.
Diverts Public Funds Away from Public Schools: I reject school voucher programs or similar policies that redirect taxpayer dollars away from public education, weakening our ability to provide outstanding services to all students.
Undermines Parental Rights: I oppose laws that reduce transparency, limit parental input, or force schools to implement policies without parental consent, especially on sensitive issues like gender identity or curriculum content.
